*If you are an out-of-state couple you must apply for your marriage certificate in the location where you intend to be married, and you must be married in that location or the marriage will not be valid. It is the out-of-state couple’s responsibility to make certain that their wedding location is in the municipality where they are applying. Triple check this point or your marriage will be invalid.

*If only one partner lives in NJ, apply in the municipality where he/she lives, no matter where in NJ you plan to be married.
