Many couples have never even heard of the word ‘officiant’ prior to looking for one. But for many couples getting married, hiring a professional wedding officiant is the best of all options in today’s wedding culture.

Thirty years ago, although professional officiants did exist, the internet didn’t, and many couples didn’t know that professional officiants existed. When a couple wanted to get married, they had far fewer options. Perhaps if they were in good graces with the community church they could be married there. If not, they might be restricted to a civil ceremony at the county courthouse. A half a dozen sentences later, and the deed was done.
